This is Local 213’s work information for Monday, June 30th, 2025.

The hall will be closed Tuesday, July 1st for Canada Day.  We will re-open on Wednesday, July 2nd.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of 65-year member Brother Bernard Frawley. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 22nd, from 4:00-8:00pm at Fundy Funeral Home, Westmorland Road, Saint John.  A funeral mass will take place Saturday, August 23rd, at 10:00am, at Stella Maris Church, Bayside Drive, with a reception to follow at the church.

Local 213’s annual summer picnic will be held on Saturday, July 12th, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the Glen Carpenter Center, 730 Foster Thurston Drive. Please contact the hall to get registered before June 30th. We are also looking for volunteers. If you are available to lend a hand, please advise the hall when registering.

Any members that would like pre-clearance for Point Lepreau, please contact the hall.

1st call is for Sunny Corner at Point Lepreau; they require:

* 2 Journeyman Instrument Techs

Starting ASAP for call that started Monday, June 16th Day shift: 7:30am–5:30pm. Duration is approximately 5-6 months. You will be working 50 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with the possibility of working 12-hour shifts for critical path work. The shift schedule will be 5x10s during the outage. Additional overtime may be required. Hours of work during the outage will be as per NBPN’s hours of work policy. There may be a requirement to reduce the shift to 8 hours during the outage if there is downtime. Start, quit, and break times may be adjusted based on customer requirements. Could be work in the reactor building. This work is under the PLGS NMA agreement. Must be clean-shaven and fit-tested. Must be able to climb and work from heights. Must have all safety training up to date. CSIS clearance is required.

2nd call is for Lorneville at Irving Oil Refinery; they require:

* 2 F3/F4 Welders to test on F3/F4 & F6 Alloy 20

Starting Monday, July 7th at 7:00am.  Duration is 2 weeks plus.  You will be working 4×10’s Monday – Thursday with possible overtime.  This work is under the NMA Short term agreement. Must be clean shaven and fit tested, be able to climb and work at heights, must have all safety training up to date.  A drug and alcohol test is required.

3rd call is for Sunny Corner at Point Lepreau; they require:

* 1 Journeyman Pipefitter, *1 F3/F4 Welder to test on Carbon Steel and Tig for Days

*1 Journeyman Pipefitter, *1 F3/F4 Welder to test on Carbon Steel and Tig for Nights

Starting Monday, August 11th at 200 Hilyard Street.  Duration is approximately 13 weeks. Weld testing will be Monday, July 28th at the weld shop.  Shifts will be 5 – 8 hour days, with overtime as required for onboarding days and night shift.  Shifts during mock-up training will be 5 -10’s day and night shifts.  Shifts during the outage will be 6 – 12’s for site set up, and 6 – 12’s for execution, days and night shifts.  Work will be in the reactor building.  This work falls under the PLGS NMA. Must have all safety training up to date and be clean shaven.  This call is for the Rocky Mountain Fitting for BWXT.

This is Local 213’s work information for Tuesday, June 24th 2025.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Brother Richard Humble. Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home. As per Richard’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Richard can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Local 213’s annual summer picnic will be held on Saturday, July 12th, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the Glen Carpenter Center, 730 Foster Thurston Drive. Starting Monday, July 7th, at 8:00am. The duration will be approx 10 weeks. This work is under the NMA Agreement. Must be able to climb and work from heights. Must have all safety up to date. Must be clean-shaven and have a valid fit test. Must complete online orientation and hire-on paperwork before reporting to the site.
