This is Local 213’s work information for Friday, Sept. 4th, 2026.

The Labor Day Parade will take place on Monday, Sept. 7th, 2026, beginning at 11:30 am, with setup starting at 10:45 am. The parade will start from Long Wharf in Saint John. Following the parade, there will be a free BBQ at Chown Fields, located at the corner of Prince Edward Street and Crown Street. Families are encouraged to attend, as there will be bouncy castles, face painting, and a magic show for kids. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun and festivities.

There will be a retiree luncheon held on October 2nd at the Legion Branch 69, located at 714 Wilson Street.  The doors open at 11:00am, buffet starts at 12:30pm and ends at 2:30pm.  The menu is buffet style and includes:  Ham & Beef, Mashed potatoes, gravy, peas and carrots.  Assorted pies for dessert.  Any retirees interested please contact the hall no later than September 22nd.

There will be a fall protection course held at the hall on Wed. Sept. 9th. Confined Space will be held at the hall on Fri the 11th and Sat the 12th. If you require these courses, please contact the JATC to get booked at 506-622-0219

The regular monthly meeting will be held next Wednesday, Sept. 9th, at 7:00pm at the Legion Branch 69. Located at 714 Wilson Street West.

The 1st call is for Lorneville at Irving Pulp and Paper; they require

* 2 Journeyman Pipefitters 

Starting Monday, Sept. 14th, at 7:30 am. This is a day-shift call. Will be working 4x10s. Duration is 3 weeks plus. This work is under the Industrial Agreement. Must be clean-shaven and fit-tested and must have all safety training up-to-date and must complete all orientation and hire-on paperwork before arrival. 

The 2nd call is for Sunny Corner at Bayside Power; they require

* 1 Journeyman Pipefitter * 2 F3/F4 Welders to test on Carbon and Chrome, 1 to start on Sept. 8th and 1 to start on Sept. 14th. 

Starting Monday, Sept. 14th, at 7:30 am. This is a day-shift call. Will be working 4x10s pre-outage. 6×10’s during the outage. The duration is approx. 2 weeks. This work is under the NMA Agreement. Must be clean-shaven and fit-tested and must have all safety training up-to-date and must complete all orientation and hire-on paperwork before arrival. 

The 3rd call is for Stuart Olson at Irving Oil Refinery; they require

* 1 F3/F4 welder to test on F3/F4; F6/F5 for days and * 2 for nights 

Starting Monday, Sept. 21st, at 7:30 am/7:30 pm. Will be working 6×10’s. The duration is 2 weeks plus. This work is under the NMA Agreement under short term conditions.  Must be clean-shaven and fit-tested and must have all safety training up-to-date and must complete all Stuart Olson orientation before arrival. IOR orientation will be done onsite. A D&A test is required.
