This is Local 213’s work information for Tuesday, May 27th, 2025.

The hall will be holding a grinding course for apprentices. If you are interested in attending, please contact the hall to get registered.

We are looking to see if there is any interest among retirees in attending a golf tournament at the Midland Golf Course in mid-August. The cost would be $60.00 per person, which would cover nine rounds of golf with a cart, two beverages, and BBQ. Please contact the hall by Monday, June 2nd, so we can determine if there is enough interest.

Local 213’s annual summer picnic will be held on Saturday, July 12th, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the Glen Carpenter Center, 730 Foster Thurston Drive. Please contact the hall to get registered before June 30th. We are also looking for volunteers. If you are available to lend a hand, please advise the hall when registering.

The Compassionate Grief Center will be holding their annual Jason Zelward Physical Challenge on June 21st from 1-4 pm. If you are interested in a fun afternoon of Washer Toss and Tug of War. Please contact the hall to register.

1st call is for Cam at the Irving Oil Refinery; they require:

* 1 Apprentice Pipefitter 

Starting Monday, June 02, at 7:30am. Duration is unknown. You will be working 4x10s, 40 hours plus. This work is under the GPMA Agreement under short-term conditions as per the site memo. Must be clean-shaven and fit-tested. Must be able to climb and work from heights. Must have all safety training up to date. Must complete online orientation before reporting to the site. A D&A test is required.

2nd call is for Lorneville at the ESJ Terminal; they require:

*2 Journeyman Pipefitters 

Starting Monday, June 02, at 7:00am. Duration is unknown. You will be working 5x10s, with possible overtime. This work is under the NMA Agreement under short-term conditions as per the site memo. Must be clean-shaven and fit-tested. Must be able to climb and work from heights. Must have all safety training up to date. Must complete online orientation and onboarding before reporting to the site. A D&A test is required.

3rd call is for Sunny Corner at Point Lepreau; they require:

* 3 Journeyman Instrument Techs 2 for days, 1 for nights

Starting Monday, June 16th Day shift 7:30am – 5:00pm, night shift 9:30pm – 7:30am. Duration is approximately 5-6 months. You will be working 50 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with the possibility of working 12-hour shifts and weekend days/nights for critical path work. The shift schedule will be 5x10s during the outage. Additional overtime may be required. Hours of work during the outage will be as per NBPN’s hours of work policy. There may be a requirement to reduce the shift to 8 hours during the outage if there is downtime. Start, quit, and break times may be adjusted based on customer requirements. 1 f3/F4 Welder to test on NBPN weld procedures 

Starting June 23rd @ the Union Hall for a week of practice, then weld test week of June 30th, starting onsite July 7th. Duration is approximately 19 weeks. Shift will be 4-10s Monday-Thursday with OT as required. 7 am-5 pm with 2 one-half-hour breaks. Shift will be changing to 5-10’s on July 14th. Additional overtime may be required. Hours of work will be as per NBPN’s hours of work policy. There may be a requirement to reduce the shift of 4-10’s for training. Start, quit and break time may be adjusted based on customers’ requirements. Must have all safety training up to date. Must be clean-shaven and fit-tested.

Starting Monday, May 26th, at 7:00am. Duration is 2 weeks plus. You will be working 5x10s Mon-Fri. 8 hours regular and 2 hours overtime. This work is under the Industrial agreement.  Must be clean-shaven and fit tested. Must complete online orientation and hire-on paperwork before reporting to the site. Must have all safety training up to date and maintain valid safety for the duration of their employment. A D&A test is required.
