ATTENTION: THERE IS A CHANGE OF VENUE FOR THE RATIFICATION VOTE OF OUR INDUSTRIAL AGREEMENT – This is Due to the number of members expected with limited parking at the legion.

Our regular monthly meeting for July 10th, 2024 has been changed to a meeting for the ratification of our Industrial Agreement – The meeting will take place at; 37 McAllister Drive, Saint John NB, Building 1 (Blue and white building at Exhibition Park). The meeting will be on July 10th, 2024 and will start at 7:00pm.  You must show your union card to gain entry and vote.  There will be a reading of the changes, questions on the changes with a vote to follow. Voting will end at 9pm. For those on nights or any members that just want to vote, the polls will open at 5pm at 37 McAllister Drive.

The Weld shop is open by appointment only. Please contact Jamie Profit (506) 333-8542 to make an appointment.

Anyone who requires CWB testing please contact the hall to register.

Local 213’s annual summer picnic will be held on Saturday, July 27th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm at the Glen Carpenter Center, 730 Foster Thurston Drive. We are still looking for volunteers if your available to lend a hand please advise the hall.

An information sheet will be sent out this week outlining the changes that have been made for you to lookover.  There will be a reading of the changes followed by a question period and then a vote.

There is one call for Lorneville at Irving Pulp and Paper Mill (ETP Location) they require:

*2 Pipefitter Apprentices

Starting Monday, July 8th at 7:00am.  Duration 1 month , will be working 4×10’s Monday – Thursday.  This work is under the Industrial Agreement. Must be clean shaven and fit tested.  Must have all safety training up to date and complete  orientation and hire on documents before reporting to site.

It is with great sadness we announce local member Jimmy Legere has passed away on June 27th, 2024.  The mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Wednesday July 3rd @ 11:00am with visitation in the church foyer at 10:00am. Donations can be made in Jimmy’s honour to the Canadian Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
